Terms
Contents
These terms are an agreement between you and PeekWell (“we”, “us”). They cover the website at peekwell.org and the app at app.peekwell.org (together, “the service”). PeekWell operates under Greek and EU law.
- Operator
- PeekWell
If you use the service for a company or another organisation, you confirm that you may bind it to these terms, and “you” includes that organisation. Our Privacy notice explains how we handle personal data.
PeekWell visits the public pages of a website, records what they do, and reports what it observed against a published set of checks for the EU, UK and US.
PeekWell is a passive auditing service. It observes publicly accessible website behaviour, the way an ordinary visitor's browser would. Reports are for information only. They are not legal advice, not a certificate of compliance, and do not replace a formal legal, security, compliance or regulatory audit.
Public pages only. Peeky never signs in, submits forms, tests passwords or looks for weaknesses. PeekWell is not a security testing service and cannot be used as one.
In particular:
- Not legal advice. A report tells you what was observed and gives context about the rules and how they have been enforced. It does not say whether you comply with any law. For that, ask a lawyer.
- Not a certificate. Neither a report, a score, an accreditation page nor a badge certifies that a website or a company complies with any law or standard.
- Observations against a rule set. Each scan is judged against a versioned rule set, named in the report. It covers the pages scanned, on the date they were scanned. It is not exhaustive and does not cover anything that is not public, such as your systems, internal processes or signed-in areas.
- A regulator may see it differently. An authority or court can reach a different view of the same facts. A finding marked “Passed” means only that the expected behaviour was observed on the pages scanned.
- The service is for business use. You must be at least 16 to create an account.
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your sign-in private. An account is for one person. Tell us at hello@peekwell.org if you think someone else has used yours.
- If you manage a company in the app, you decide who joins it and with which role, and you are responsible for the members you invite.
You may ask us to scan a website only if you run it or have the authority to have it assessed, for example as its owner, an employee, or an adviser or investor acting with the owner’s agreement.
PeekWell staff may run sample scans of public websites and share the results with people at the company concerned, as our Privacy notice describes.
You must not:
- use the service, its reports or its fix prompts as a security tool, or to look for weaknesses in any system;
- try to make a scan sign in, submit forms, test passwords or go beyond public pages;
- identify, contact, track or profile people whose details appear in findings or evidence, or use those details for anything except fixing the website concerned;
- use the service to harass anyone or to make claims about a company that a report does not support;
- copy, resell or bulk-extract the service, its rule sets or its reports, except as section 9 allows;
- interfere with the service, get around its access controls, or use it in a way that breaks the law.
Reports and findings. A report lists one finding for each check that applies, with what was observed, how it was observed, what it means in plain words and, on Plus, how to fix it. Findings that rest on a language model’s judgement are marked as such, with a confidence level. Company members can comment on a finding or dispute it. A comment is recorded beside the finding and does not change the score. A ruling by PeekWell staff, or a new scan, can.
The accreditation page and badge. A company on Plus with an active Accreditation subscription can publish a public accreditation page and show its badge on its own website. The page shows scan dates and scores, each with the number of checks it was measured against, and never findings.
The badge shows only while all of these hold: the company is on Plus, its Accreditation subscription is active, the page is published, and its latest scan is at or above the threshold of the rule set it was judged against. The badge goes off when the subscription ends or lapses, when a later scan falls below the threshold, when no fresh scan arrives in time, or when the page is unpublished.
The page and the badge record what PeekWell observed. They do not certify compliance with any law or standard, and you must not present them as if they did. Show the badge only as we supply it, and do not alter it.
- Trial is free. It gives a first look: one member, one jurisdiction and one website.
- Plus is a one-time payment of €79, £69 or $89, per company. It unlocks the full report, fixes, more members, jurisdictions and websites.
- Accreditation is a subscription of €19, £17 or $21 a month, per company, and needs Plus. It renews each month on the day you subscribed until you cancel. When you cancel, it stays active until the end of the month you have paid for and then stops. There are no refunds for part of a month, except where section 7 or the law gives you one.
Prices are set in euros, pounds sterling and US dollars. They exclude VAT and other sales taxes, which are added at checkout where they apply. Stripe processes all payments.
If a payment fails, we may try again. If it still fails, the Accreditation subscription lapses and the badge goes off until payment is made. We will tell you about a price change for the Accreditation subscription at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, buying for purposes outside your trade, business or profession, you can withdraw from a contract with us within 14 days of the day it is made, without giving a reason. A business customer does not have this right.
Starting at once. The service starts as soon as you pay. At checkout we ask you to confirm that you want it to start during the 14 days, and to acknowledge what that means for your right to withdraw:
- Plus unlocks the full report straight away. Once it has unlocked with your express consent and acknowledgement, and we have confirmed both to you by email, you can no longer withdraw from the Plus purchase.
- Accreditation is a service. If you asked it to start during the 14 days and then withdraw, you pay for the part supplied up to the moment you told us, in proportion to the full period. Once the service has been fully provided, the right to withdraw ends.
How to withdraw. Tell us clearly within the 14 days, for example by email to hello@peekwell.org. You do not need to use a form. We refund what is due within 14 days of hearing from you, to the payment method you used.
EU: Directive 2011/83/EU, Articles 9, 13, 14(3) and 16(a) and (m). UK: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulations 29, 30, 36 and 37
The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day a service contract is concluded. A consumer who withdraws after asking for a service to begin pays a proportionate amount. The right ends for a service once it is fully performed, and for digital content once supply has begun, when the consumer gave prior express consent and acknowledged the loss of the right.
Before you subscribe to Accreditation, we show you these terms and ask for your express consent:
- What renews: the Accreditation subscription for one company.
- How much: €19, £17 or $21 a month, plus any sales tax, charged to the card on your billing account.
- When: each month on the day you subscribed, until you cancel.
- How to cancel: on the billing page for the company in the app, at any time, or by email to hello@peekwell.org. Cancellation stops future charges, and the subscription stays active until the end of the month you have paid for.
After you subscribe, we email you a confirmation with these terms and how to cancel.
US: Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act, 15 U.S.C. 8403
Before charging for a recurring service sold online, a seller must clearly disclose all material terms before taking billing information, get the customer’s express informed consent, and provide a simple way to stop recurring charges.
The service belongs to PeekWell: its software, rule sets, checks, wiki, blog, design, characters and the PeekWell name and marks. These terms do not transfer any of it to you.
While you have access to a report, you may use it, and share it inside your organisation and with your advisers, investors and authorities. You may use the fixes and fix prompts in your own websites and code.
You keep the rights in what you give us, such as your company details, logo and comments. You allow us to host and use it to provide the service. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we provide it as it is: we do not promise that a scan finds every issue, that a finding is correct in every case, or that acting on a report will satisfy any authority.
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, data or goodwill, or for indirect or consequential loss;
- our total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Consumers. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects the rights that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be waived. This applies in the EU, in the UK, and in US states whose laws do not allow some of these exclusions or limits.
If you use the service for a business, you will compensate PeekWell for claims by others, and for the reasonable costs that follow, arising from your scanning of a website you had no authority to have assessed, or from your use of the service against section 4. This section does not apply to consumers.
You can stop using the service at any time, cancel your Accreditation subscription, and delete your account from your account page.
We may suspend or close an account, or stop a scan, if you use the service against section 4, do not pay, or put us or others at legal risk. We tell you why, and give notice first where we reasonably can. We may also end the service as a whole with at least 30 days’ notice, and refund any part of a subscription you have paid for and not received.
When an account or a subscription ends, access ends with it and the accreditation badge goes off. We handle the data as the Privacy notice describes. Sections 9 to 13 continue to apply.
These terms are governed by Greek law, and the courts of Greece have jurisdiction over disputes about them.
Consumers in the EU. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the rules of the country where you live that cannot be overridden by agreement. You can bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live or in Greece, and we can bring proceedings against you only in the courts of the country where you live.
Consumers in the UK. You keep the protection of the law of the part of the UK where you live, and you can bring proceedings in its courts.
Consumers in the US. You keep the protections of the law of the state where you live that cannot be waived by agreement.
EU: Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 (Rome I), Article 6(2); Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 (Brussels Ia), Article 18
A choice of law cannot deprive a consumer of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country of habitual residence. A consumer may sue in the courts of the place where the consumer is domiciled, and can be sued only there.
If you have a complaint, write to hello@peekwell.org first and we will try to settle it with you. The European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform was discontinued under Regulation (EU) 2024/3228, which repealed the regulation that set it up from 20 July 2025, so we do not link to it.
The version and date at the top show when these terms last changed. If we make a change that matters, we email people with an account at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can cancel and close your account before then. A change never applies to a payment you made before it.
